The residents at Berkeleyparks all have one thing in common: their calendars are never empty. Every one of our 59 parks boasts its own range of social and community clubs, organised by its residents. Whether it’s community clubs, coffee mornings, themed evenings or seasonal events, the community at Berkeleyparks is built around our residents. Activities vary from park to park, but the aim is always the same: simple, enjoyable ways to meet people, stay involved and make the most of life in our community.
Shape Your Berkleyparks Community
Moving somewhere new can feel like a big step, especially if you are starting a fresh chapter in life. That is why our resident clubs and social activities can make such a difference. They offer easy, natural ways to meet neighbours, enjoy familiar hobbies and try something new, without any pressure.
Because our residents shape our communities, social life looks a little different from park to park. To give you a taste of what’s on offer, take a look at some of the social clubs and upcoming events at a few of our parks from across the country.
Turners Hill Park | Crawley, Sussex
Set within the landscape of West Sussex’s woodlands, Turners Hill Park is a peaceful residential park for residents aged 50 and above. With a general store, licensed social club and bus routes to Crawley and East Grinstead, it offers a convenient and sociable setting for residents looking for a quieter lifestyle.
Turners Hill Park has a particularly busy social calendar, with the social club open every day from 4:30 pm. The weekly programme covers something for almost every mood:
Wellness group: Held on Mondays, this is a relaxed way for residents to focus on wellbeing.
Dance classes: Taking place on Monday evenings, these classes add a lively start to the week.
Bingo night: Held on Tuesday evenings, one of the most popular evenings at Turners Hill.
Yoga: Available on Wednesdays, yoga offers both socialisation and some gentle activity.
Darts: Held on Thursday evenings, darts is ideal for residents who enjoy friendly competition.
Pool: Round off the week with a Friday evening game and a catch-up with neighbours.
The fun doesn’t stop at weekly clubs. Residents can also enjoy live singers, bands and weekend entertainment, along with game show nights, quiz nights and movie nights. Seasonal highlights include summer fayres in the garden and barbecues when the weather obliges.
Perhaps the most charming get-together of all, though, is the park’s themed dinner nights. On Italian Night, one of the residents (a talented chef) takes over the kitchen to cook a sit-down meal for the community.
