From Family Home to Park Home: Kevin & Angela’s Journey to Temple Grove

We recently caught up with Kevin and Angela, the proud new owners of an Omar Ikon park home at Temple Grove Park, to hear about their move from a traditional bricks and mortar family home to park home living — and how life on the park is treating them so far.

Why make the move to park home living?

Kevin shared that their interest in park home living started a few years ago: ‘My brother bought a park home and was always really happy there. Our family home in Kent had a large, landscaped garden, which was beautiful, but it took up a lot of our weekends. We had even considered park home living before we found Temple Grove, looking at parks back in Kent, but decided to move to Essex instead’.

Finding the right park

The couple kept exploring options in the Essex area, but nothing quite felt right. That was until they stumbled across Temple Grove by chance. ‘We didn’t make an appointment, we just called in! Whilst walking around we noticed some new homes and a few vacant plots. Within days, we’d booked to view a new Omar Ikon that was already sited. Richard, the park manager, met us and made us feel completely at ease. He was helpful, friendly and not pushy at all’.

Settling into their Omar Ikon

The 48 x 20 FT Omar Ikon has been the perfect fit. ‘It’s spacious, and feels very open,’ Kevin explains. ‘The large kitchen diner and living room felt just right straight away. Of course, it’s smaller than our previous home, but that’s actually a bonus because it’s easier to maintain’.

Life on the park

Since moving to Temple Grove in winter 2025, Kevin and Angela have embraced the park lifestyle wholeheartedly. ‘Park home living is a different way of life, and it does take some getting used to, but everyone is incredibly friendly. There’s already a real sense of community, and we’ve made some great friends in such a short time’.

Working with Berkeleyparks

From the very first visit to collecting their keys, the couple has been impressed with Berkeleyparks’ customer service. Kevin and Angela said: ‘We can’t praise Berkeleyparks enough, they have been brilliant. From Richard first showing us around and all he has done since moving in, to Jo in the Sales Office who put our minds at rest every step of the way and the rest of the team we’ve spoken to in-between’.

Advice for future park home owners

Kevin and Angela are already advocates for park home living: ‘Do your research into the area and the park, go with a reputable company like Berkeleyparks and don’t be afraid to ask questions or explore new areas. It’s a fresh start and can open up a whole new way of life’.
